About Us

Knitted Together was born when the related organizers formed a WhatsApp group to stay connected. They then started to discuss their experiences and share their stories. Through their stories, they realized that each battled silently with some form of mental challenge and stayed in the discomfort of silence because of the stigma of mental illnesses. Seeing the burden lift from their countenance freed them from the shame or fear they were hiding and gave them a sense of relief.

How We Serve

The women realized that sharing their stories was therapeutic, so they created a therapeutic storytelling platform to improve mental health in the black community. The goal is to discuss the circumstances that create the mental challenge, identify the mental problem, and have access to professionals who can guide them through a well-rounded plan of care. Knitted Together holds a yearly seminar that includes programs, education, and qualified therapists that look like the community they serve to help facilitate healing.

Our Mission

To be a bridge for healing from mental challenges, by providing a safe space to communicate concerns, share information, and get easy access to therapists, psychiatrists, and clinicians.

This is where you celebrate life as you learn about different mental challenges, programs to aid those in need, and different ways to foster mental health and meet trusted therapists that will listen to you and help you create your joy.

Our Honoree this year is the Affirmation Queen; Ms. Toni Jones.
